With FAO I have recently co-authored a paper on social protection and the limits to adaptation, and I am currently working with FAO colleagues to pull together a compendium of global experiences on the use of public works programmes to address a range of climate and ecological challenges – watch this space!
Climate Resilient and Inclusive Social Protection (CRISP)
My work with UNESCAP is helping to take forward their Climate Resilient and Inclusive Social Protection (CRISP) initiative, that supports governments in Asia and the Pacific to integrate social protection with climate resilience and just transition strategies. I am working with UNESCAP colleagues in Bangkok and national research teams across the region to explore the implications of climate change for social protection needs, sharing experiences and helping to promote learning between countries, with the goal of supporting dialogue between social protection and climate actors in order to develop effective programming with the capacity to respond to future challenges.
